Reverse description Laureate and draped bust of the Roman Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, shown with characteristic imperial portraiture. A decorative star or asterisk symbol appears in the right field. The regnal year monogram ΔΚΦ (Bosporan year 524, corresponding to 227–228 AD) is placed in the lower field or exergue. The coin is framed by a beaded border, and the reverse design reflects the Bosporan practice of pairing the local king's portrait with that of the reigning Roman emperor as a mark of political allegiance.
