Obverse description Crude hammered field bearing a stylized frontal deity figure, likely a royal or divine effigy rendered in the debased Post-Hunnic tradition, surrounded by pellets and geometric ornamental elements. The figure displays a prominent crown or headdress with radiating prongs at the apex, flanked by circular pellet motifs on either side. Nagari legend कलस (Kalasa) appears distributed across the field in angular characters, identifying the issuing ruler. The overall design reflects the highly schematized artistic vocabulary characteristic of late Shahi and Post-Hunnic coinage of Kashmir. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-hammered production.
