Reverse description Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, her left arm resting upon a large round shield decorated with a boss, while a long transverse spear extends diagonally across the field behind her. She holds Nike in her extended right hand, who faces left and crowns the goddess. A monogram appears in the inner left field, serving as a mint or magistrate control mark. An ornate trident symbol is placed in the exergue, a civic badge specific to Byzantion's coinage. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs along the outer border, identifying the coin as issued in the name of King Lysimachus.
