Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander III (the Great) facing right, idealised in the Hellenistic tradition, wearing the ram's horn of Ammon curling forward behind the ear, symbolising divine descent from Zeus-Ammon. The hair is rendered in flowing, deeply engraved locks swept back from the forehead, with fine strands cascading to the neck. The portrait is executed in high relief with strong, sharply defined facial features characteristic of the posthumous Lysimachean coinage. A diadem is tied around the head, its ends visible behind the neck.

Reverse description Athena Nikephoros enthroned left, draped and helmeted, her left arm resting on a large round shield decorated with a facing gorgoneion, while a long transverse spear leans diagonally in the background. In her extended right hand she holds a small Nike (Victory) figure. A six-pointed star appears in the inner left field, serving as a mint or magistrate symbol. In the exergue, a trident is depicted, a well-known civic symbol of Byzantion referencing its maritime identity. The reverse legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ ('of King Lysimachus') runs along the right and left fields respectively.
