| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed and heroically idealized head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, elaborately curled hair. A prominent ram's horn of Ammon curves forward from behind the ear, signifying Alexander's divine lineage as son of Zeus-Ammon. The diadem is tied around the head with the ends visible behind the neck. The portrait is boldly struck with high relief, filling the flan, with no legend or inscription on the obverse. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Athena Nikephoros enthroned left, depicted in a stately Hellenistic manner, her left arm resting on a large round shield set against her side, a transverse spear rising diagonally in the background behind her. In her extended right hand she holds a Nike (winged Victory figure). The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs along the outer field, identifying this as a posthumous issue in the name of King Lysimachus. The control mark ΣI appears to the inner left of the throne. |
