The portrait displays the characteristic idealized Hellenistic style, with fine facial features, a slightly parted mouth, and the horn of Ammon subtly rendered above the ear, alluding to Alexander's divine association with Zeus-Ammon. The hair cascades in thick, dynamic locks around the neck and temples, rendered in high relief against a smooth field. The engraving exhibits the refined artistic quality typical of posthumous Lysimachan coinage struck by Byzantion during the late Hellenistic period. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Athena Nikephoros seated left on a throne, clad in armor and wearing a crested helmet, holding a small Nike (Victory) figure in her outstretched right hand and a long spear in her left, with a large round shield resting against the throne at her side. The figure is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition, with careful attention to drapery and musculature. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to the right and ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ to the left identify this as a posthumous issue struck in the name of King Lysimachus. The Byzantion civic monogram or mintmark ΒΥ appears in the left field, confirming the attribution to the Byzantion mint. A spear and additional symbols are visible in the lower field. |
