| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III to right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with the ram's horn of Ammon curling behind the ear, asserting his divine lineage. The flowing locks of hair are rendered with great sculptural detail, arranged in characteristic Lysimachean portrait style. The diadem is clearly visible crossing the forehead, its ends trailing behind the head. The portrait fills the flan with confident authority, the field left plain without legend. No border of dots is visible on this specimen. |
