Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with richly modelled, flowing curls radiating dramatically from the crown and temples. The diadem is clearly visible binding the hair above the forehead, and the curved horn of Ammon — emblematic of Alexander's divine association with Zeus-Ammon — emerges subtly at the ear. The portrait is executed with exceptional sculptural depth, the bold relief of the hair contrasting with the smooth, idealized facial planes characteristic of posthumous Lysimachean coinage. No legend appears on the obverse field.
