| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III (the Great) facing right, portrayed in the Hellenistic tradition with the ram's horn of Ammon curling behind the ear, associating him with the Egyptian deity and asserting divine status. The hair is rendered in fine wavy locks emanating from beneath the diadem, with richly detailed, deeply carved strands swept back in a naturalistic yet idealized style. The portrait is executed with considerable artistic skill, displaying a strong, youthful profile with pronounced facial features characteristic of posthumous Lysimachean coinage. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs along the upper and right fields, identifying the issuing authority as King Lysimachus. The civic magistrate's abbreviation ΒΥ appears below the throne, identifying the mint of Byzantion, while an ornate trident symbol is placed in the exergue, serving as an additional Byzantion civic badge.
