| Beschrijving keerzijde | Athena Nikephoros seated left on a throne, wearing helmet and aegis, holding a small Nike in her extended right hand and resting her left arm on a grounded shield; a spear leans against her left shoulder. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs along the right and left fields respectively, reading 'of King Lysimachus.' The municipal monogram or abbreviation ΒΥ for Byzantion appears in the lower field as a mint control mark. The composition follows the established posthumous Lysimachean stater type closely, with finely rendered drapery and bold relief. |
