Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, wearing the horn of Ammon curling above the ear, rendered with elaborately styled locks of hair radiating from the crown in the characteristic Lysimachean portrait tradition. The facial features are strongly modelled in high relief, with a pronounced brow, aquiline nose, and slightly parted lips conveying an idealized heroic quality. No legend appears on the obverse field. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hammered coinage of this period and region.

Reverse description Athena Nikephoros seated left on a throne, wearing helmet and aegis, holding a small Nike in her extended right hand and resting her left arm on a grounded shield; a spear leans against her left shoulder. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs along the right and left fields respectively, reading 'of King Lysimachus.' The municipal monogram or abbreviation ΒΥ for Byzantion appears in the lower field as a mint control mark. The composition follows the established posthumous Lysimachean stater type closely, with finely rendered drapery and bold relief.
