| Reverse description | Athena Nikephoros seated left on a throne, wearing a crested helmet and draped in a chiton and himation, her left arm resting on a large round shield decorated with a gorgoneion. In her outstretched right hand she holds a Nike figure crowning the royal name. A long spear rests diagonally behind her. The vertical legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ is divided to either side of the enthroned figure, reading right to left on the right and left to right on the left field. A monogram or mint control mark appears in the left field below the extended arm, consistent with Byzantion issues of this period. |
