| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, depicted in fine Hellenistic style with strong relief. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, the bowl adorned with a prominent crested plume trailing elegantly to the rear. Flowing curls of hair emerge from beneath the helmet and cascade across the neck and cheek, rendered with exceptional detail characteristic of Alexandrine die engraving. The facial features are finely modelled, with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a composed, idealized expression. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse. |
