Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena in right-facing profile, wearing a Corinthian helmet adorned with a prominent crested plume and decorated cheekpieces. The helmet bowl is fitted closely to the goddess's idealized facial features, with carefully rendered locks of hair visible beneath the neckguard. The neck is draped in a scale-pattern aegis, its overlapping scales rendered in fine relief. The modeling is of high Hellenistic quality, characteristic of the Pella mint during the early Alexandrine period.

Reverse description Nike, the goddess of victory, standing in left-facing three-quarter pose, her wings partially spread behind her. In her extended right hand she holds a victor's wreath, while her left hand grasps a stylis (naval standard). She is clad in a flowing chiton, its drapery rendered with naturalistic movement. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ appears in the right field, and a bee symbol is placed in the left field as a mint control mark.
