| Reverse description | Nike, the goddess of victory, standing facing left in full figure, rendered in fine engraving characteristic of the Lampsakos mint. She holds a wreath extended forward in her raised right hand and a stylis (ship's stern ornament) in her lowered left hand, referencing Macedonian naval power. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander. A herm (a rectangular pillar surmounted by a head) appears as a mint control symbol in the left field. The overall design is crisp and well-centered, consistent with the high production standards of this prolific mint during the early Diadochi period. |
