The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, adorned with an elaborate crested plume featuring a serpent at the base and richly detailed feathering. Flowing curls of hair emerge from beneath the helmet, framing the finely modelled facial features. The overall style reflects the skilled die engraving associated with posthumous Alexandrine issues of western Asia Minor. |

In the left field, a bee symbol — the civic badge of Ephesos — is flanked above and below by the mint letters E and Φ (epsilon and phi), identifying this issue as struck at Ephesos. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs in the field, attributing the coinage to Alexander III. The reverse type follows the standard Alexandrine gold stater design established under Alexander the Great and continued posthumously by successor mints. |
