| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, depicted in high relief with fine portraiture characteristic of the Ephesian mint. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, adorned with an elaborate crested plume featuring a serpent at the base and richly detailed feathering. Flowing curls of hair emerge from beneath the helmet, framing the finely modelled facial features. The overall style reflects the skilled die engraving associated with posthumous Alexandrine issues of western Asia Minor. |
