| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine high relief in the Hellenistic style. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, adorned with a prominent crested plume; flowing locks of hair cascade from beneath the helmet along the neck. The facial features are finely modelled with a well-defined jaw and slightly parted lips, conveying a youthful and idealized portrait. The coin's irregular flan, typical of hammered coinage of this period, frames the design without a border or legend. |
