| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, wearing a Corinthian helmet adorned with a coiled serpent on the bowl and a flowing horsehair crest. The goddess's hair falls in stylized waves below the helmet rim, framing a finely modelled face with a prominent nose and slightly parted lips. The neck is rendered with careful anatomical detail, and the cheek-guard of the helmet is raised to reveal the full profile. The composition fills the flan with characteristic Macedonian die-engraving quality, with no legend on the obverse. |

| Reverse description | Nike, the winged goddess of victory, stands in three-quarter view facing left, her large spread wings framing the composition. She is draped in a fine chiton belted at the waist, and extends her right arm forward to place a wreath upon an unseen trophy or staff; in her left hand she holds a ship's stylis. In the lower field to the left appears the mint control symbol of a pentagram star below the letter I (or a monogram), and to the right the vertical Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ. A small cista mystica or vessel is depicted in the exergual area at lower center, serving as an additional mint control mark characteristic of the Abydos issue. |
