Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, depicted in high relief with finely rendered facial features. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, adorned with a coiled serpent on the bowl and a decorative crest above, with long flowing locks of hair cascading beneath. The style is characteristic of the refined Macedonian die-cutting tradition of the late 4th century BC.
