| Beschrijving keerzijde | Nike, the goddess of victory, stands facing left in flowing drapery, holding a wreath in her outstretched right hand and a stylis (naval standard) in her left. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs to the right of the figure in Greek characters. In the left field, a monogram or letter M appears within a corn-wreath, serving as a mint control mark, while a griffin-head facing right is placed below as a secondary control symbol. The composition is well-balanced within the flan, consistent with the posthumous Alexandrine stater series struck at Abydos. |
