Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet adorned with a prominent crest and decorated cheek-guards pushed back. The goddess's fine facial features are rendered in high relief in the Hellenistic style, with flowing locks of hair visible beneath the helmet's rim. The visor of the helmet is raised, revealing a serene, idealized profile. The overall workmanship reflects the refined die-cutting traditions associated with Macedonian royal coinage of the late 4th to early 3rd century BC.
