| Reverse description | Nike, the winged goddess of Victory, stands facing left in three-quarter view, her large, fully spread wings prominently displayed behind her. She is draped in a chiton and extends her right arm forward, holding a naval standard or stylis, while her left arm holds the wing at her side. To the left of the figure, a vertical stylis (naval symbol) is visible in the field. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field, identifying the coin as issued in the name of Alexander. The composition is characteristic of the Salamis mint type as catalogued under Price 3137. |
