| Obverse description | Head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet adorned with a prominent transverse crest; curling locks of hair escape beneath the helmet at the nape and temple, rendered in fine detail characteristic of the Hellenistic die-cutting tradition. The facial features are finely modelled in three-quarter relief, with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a serene expression. The cheek-guards of the helmet are raised, revealing the goddess's profile. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, as typical of hammered staters of this series. |

| Reverse description | Nike, the goddess of victory, standing left in flowing drapery, extending a victor's wreath in her right hand and holding a stylis (naval standard) in her left hand. Her wings are spread prominently, with the primary feathers clearly articulated. In the left field, a star appears above the mint control letters ΣΙ beneath the left wing, and ΦΙ below the right wing, serving as the mint signature of Sinope. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander III. |
