| Descrizione del rovescio | Within a recessed incuse square, a grapevine bearing four distinct bunches of grapes is depicted, the vine rendered with curling tendrils and foliage within a linear inner square border. The Greek magistrate inscription ΕΠΙ ΗΡΑΚΛΕΙΔΟΥ (meaning 'under Herakleides') surrounds the central vine device, identifying the issuing magistrate responsible for the coinage. The entire composition is set within the characteristic incuse square punch typical of early Thracian silver coinage. The grape motif is a direct allusion to the renowned wine production of the Maroneia region. |
