| Obverse description | A spirited horse in full prancing posture to the left, rendered in high relief with lively naturalistic detail including a flowing mane and outstretched forelegs. The animal is depicted in a rearing stance, with two legs raised and two planted, conveying vigorous motion across the open field. Beneath the horse, in the lower left field, a trident is clearly visible as a secondary symbol. The flan is broad and irregular, typical of Thracian hammered coinage of this period. No legend appears on the obverse. |

| Reverse description | Within a recessed incuse square, a grapevine bearing four distinct bunches of grapes is depicted, the vine rendered with curling tendrils and foliage within a linear inner square border. The Greek magistrate inscription ΕΠΙ ΗΡΑΚΛΕΙΔΟΥ (meaning 'under Herakleides') surrounds the central vine device, identifying the issuing magistrate responsible for the coinage. The entire composition is set within the characteristic incuse square punch typical of early Thracian silver coinage. The grape motif is a direct allusion to the renowned wine production of the Maroneia region. |
