| Obverse description | Prow of a war galley advancing to the right, rendered in fine relief with incised planking detail; the prow is adorned with a thunderbolt device at its head. Beneath the prow, a shrimp (or prawn) is depicted in profile facing right, a distinctive civic badge of Phaselis. The design fills the flan with bold, confident engraving characteristic of Lycian silver coinage of the Hellenistic period. |
