| Obverse description | Pomegranate depicted in high relief, rendered in archaic style with a rounded body and pronounced calyx with bifurcating stem at apex; two curving lateral branches or tendrils extend symmetrically from the base of the fruit, lending the composition a distinctive, almost heraldic quality. The pomegranate, the civic badge of Side, occupies the central field of the irregularly shaped flan, with no inscriptions or border ornament present. The surface bears the characteristic texture of an early fifth-century BC Greek silver coin struck by the hammered technique. |

| Reverse description | Head of Athena in left profile, helmeted with a crested Attic helmet adorned with a prominent crest rendered in fine striation and a dotted crest-guard; the facial features are rendered in the severe archaic style typical of the early Classical period, with a well-defined jaw and almond-shaped eye. The head is set within a deep square incuse punch, a hallmark of early Greek coinage struck in the hammered technique. No legend or subsidiary devices appear in the incuse field.
