| Reverse description | Within a shallow incuse square, a bearded male head facing left, identified as the eponymous magistrate Dionysas, wearing an ivy wreath with clearly rendered leaves and berries, the hair rendered in fine wavy locks falling to the nape. The beard is depicted with tight curls typical of the late classical Abderite style. The magistrate's name ΔΙΟΝΥΣΑΣ is distributed around the head in Greek characters — Δ upper left, Ι upper right, Ο and Ν to the right, Υ lower right, Σ lower center, and ΑΣ to the left — filling the incuse field. |
