| Obverse description | Diademed bare head of Diodotos II facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with carefully detailed curling hair bound by a royal diadem whose ends trail behind the neck. The portrait displays youthful idealized features with a strong jawline and well-modelled neck, consistent with the Seleucid artistic tradition inherited by the Baktrian court. The flan is slightly irregular, as is characteristic of hammered gold coinage of this period. No legend appears on the obverse. |
