| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, depicted in fine Hellenistic style. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet decorated with a coiled serpent motif on the bowl, rendered with considerable sculptural detail. The portrait is executed in high relief, with carefully articulated facial features characteristic of early third-century Macedonian die engraving. The field surrounding the head is plain, with no visible legend on the obverse. |
