Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet pushed back to reveal the face, with elaborate cheek-guards and a flowing neck-guard; the hair falls in wavy locks beneath the helmet rim. The rendering is in fine Hellenistic style, with carefully detailed scales on the helmet bowl and naturalistic facial features. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered gold coinage of the period. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse.
