VOLISIOS DVMNOCOVEROS is one of several paired-name issues from the Corieltauvi, a tribe occupying what is now Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, whose late coinage is unusual in appearing to name two individuals — possibly a king and a subordinate authority, or joint rulers, though the precise political arrangement remains unresolved. The 'P' classification in this series distinguishes it by specific die characteristics within the broader Volisios group, which also includes issues naming DVMNOVELLAV NOS and CARTIVEL LAVNOS as the second figure.
