Obverse description Bridled horse in a vigorous prancing pose, bounding to left with forelegs raised and trailing rein clearly depicted beneath the body. The animal is rendered in high relief with fine attention to musculature, flowing mane, and expressive facial detail. The field is plain and unlettered, allowing the dynamic equine figure to dominate the flan. The overall style reflects the accomplished die-cutting characteristic of Thracian mints of the early fourth century BC.
