| Obverse description | Jugate bare heads of Augustus and Agrippa facing right, rendered in low relief in the Hellenistic tradition. Augustus is depicted in the foreground with finely engraved hair swept forward, while Agrippa appears partially behind him, both busts truncated at the shoulder. The coin field is unadorned, with no encircling legend, typical of the earliest Bosporan gold staters struck in imitation of Roman prototypes. The portraits exhibit the characteristic broad, slightly crude workmanship of provincial Bosporan die-cutting. |
