The Greek inscription ΒΑΡ, an abbreviation for ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΣΠΟΥΡΓΟΥ (of King Aspurgus), accompanies the date formula. The reverse design follows the established Bosporan convention of pairing Roman imperial portraits with regnal dating in the local Pontic era. |
