In her outstretched right hand she holds a laurel wreath, while her left hand grasps a stylis (naval standard). To the left of the figure, a monogram appears within a wreath, serving as a mint control mark, and below the left wing the Greek letter Η (eta) appears as a secondary control symbol. The reverse legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ arcs around the composition, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander the Great, a practice continued by Antigonus I to legitimize his authority. |
