Reverse description A thunderbolt depicted vertically at centre, rendered in detailed relief as the divine attribute of Zeus, with stylised flame-like projections at each end. To the left stands an eagle with closed wings, facing left, perched on a horizontal ground line; the eagle serves as a further emblematic attribute of Zeus and is a hallmark of Epirote royal coinage. The ethnic legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ ΤΟΥ ΝΕΟΠΤΟΛΕΜΟΥ is disposed around the field, identifying the issuer as Alexander I Molossos, son of Neoptolemos, king of Epeiros. The composition is arranged with heraldic clarity in the tradition of late Classical Greek civic silver coinage.
