Reverse description Nike, the goddess of victory, stands in left-facing attitude with wings spread behind her. In her extended right hand she presents a wreath, while her raised left arm supports a stylized lotus-tipped scepter resting over her shoulder. The figure is draped in a chiton with fine drapery folds rendered in the high classical tradition. The Greek ethnic legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ appears in the right field, and a mint control mark associated with the Memphis issue may appear in the lower field or exergue.
