Obverse description Highly stylized and abstracted effigy of Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in the barbarous Celtic-Scythian tradition with strongly schematized facial features. Two pellets appear in the field before the face and two further pellets are placed behind the ear, serving as decorative or symbolic elements characteristic of this coinage type. The portrait retains only vestigial traces of the original Macedonian prototype, reduced to broad curvilinear forms and raised bosses. The overall design reflects the progressive abstraction typical of Celto-Scythian imitative coinage derived from Lysimachean or Kolchian stater prototypes.
