| Reverse description | A large tripod displayed frontally at center, its three legs resting on a base bar and surmounted by a cauldron bowl, rendered in incuse relief within a slightly recessed field — the characteristic technique of early South Italian coinage. The tripod, sacred emblem of Apollo and civic symbol of Kroton, dominates the flan. The partial ethnic inscription ϘΡΟ ΤΕ appears in the field to the left and right of the tripod legs. The design is crisp and schematic, reflecting the mature Achaean incuse tradition. |
