The tripod, sacred emblem of Apollo and civic symbol of Kroton, dominates the flan. The partial ethnic inscription ϘΡΟ ΤΕ appears in the field to the left and right of the tripod legs. The design is crisp and schematic, reflecting the mature Achaean incuse tradition. |
