| Obverse description | Forepart of Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology, depicted in left-facing profile with wings prominently spread and detailed feather work rendered in archaic style. The body and neck of the creature display careful incised scaling, while the musculature of the forelegs is boldly modelled in high relief. A grapevine with clusters of grapes encircles the central device, referencing the viticultural prosperity of the Propontis region.
