| Obverse description | Two nude wrestlers engaged in combat, facing each other and grappling with interlocked arms, depicted in high relief with muscular anatomical detail characteristic of late Classical Greek coinage. The figures stand on a ground line, their bodies rendered in a dynamic contrapposto stance conveying athletic tension. Between the wrestlers' legs, in the lower field, appears the Greek inscription EI. The scene is enclosed within a beaded border, typical of Aspendian stater coinage of the fourth and third centuries BC. |
