| 正面描述 | Facing forepart of a lion rendered in archaic Greek style, with pronounced mane indicated by a striated or beaded collar, wide-set eyes, and open jaws; the beast is depicted frontally with powerful forepaws visible at lower register. The design fills the flan in bold, high relief characteristic of early Rhodian coinage from Lindos. No inscription or legend is present in the field. |

Lindos was one of the three major cities of Rhodes before the synoikismos of 408 BC unified the island under the new city of Rhodes, after which the independent coinage of Lindos effectively ceased. This stater belongs to the earlier, autonomous phase of Lindian minting, when the city controlled significant trade routes and maintained its own monetary identity distinct from Ialysos and Kamiros.
The "var." notation against SNG von Aulock 2782 signals a die difference not fully catalogued in that corpus — worth cross-referencing against HN Online 1461 before attribution is considered settled.
