Obverse description Eagle standing left with wings fully spread, rendered in bold high relief in the archaic Greek style. The bird is depicted with powerful talons gripping the ground, its head turned slightly downward toward a dead heron prostrate to the lower left. The composition conveys the dynamic tension of predator over prey, a celebrated emblematic type of the Elean sanctuary coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hand-struck issues of the period.

Reverse description Nike, the goddess of victory, standing facing with head turned to left, clad in a long belted chiton with fine drapery folds rendered in the early Classical style. She extends her right hand forward holding an open tainia (fillet or victory ribbon), while her left hand grasps a tall palm frond whose base rests on the ground to the right. The design is set within a deeply incised square (incuse), with the ethnic inscription A-Λ / I-E distributed in the four corners of the field, an abbreviation for ΑΛΙΕ (Elaeans).
