| Obverse description | Eagle standing to left on a hare, wings spread upward and partially closed, the raptor rendered in fine archaic style with carefully incised feather detail. The bird clutches the hare beneath its talons, with the prey visible on the ground line below. The composition fills the broad, slightly convex flan characteristic of Elean staters of this period. The field is smooth and unlettered, the entire design enclosed within a plain border. |
