Obverse description Eagle displayed in three-quarter view, wings fully spread and raised, depicted in the act of taking flight to the right. The bird is rendered with bold, deeply struck relief, with feather detail visible on the breast and wing surfaces. The powerful talons are shown gripping downward as the eagle launches itself upward from an implied perch. The composition fills the flan dynamically, with no legend or border, the plain field framing the vigorous naturalistic rendering characteristic of early Cretan coinage.
