附加信息	Neapolis (modern Naples) began striking its own silver coinage after breaking from Cumae and establishing itself as a major Greek emporium on the Campanian coast. The city maintained close ties with Greek poleis while navigating pressure from Samnite neighbors and, later, Roman expansion — a political balancing act reflected in the gradual Romanization of coin types across this very series. Following the Roman-Neapolitan treaty of 326 BC, the city retained minting rights as a civitas foederata, one of the few Italian Greek cities to do so. The SNG ANS corpus remains the primary reference for die studies of this long-running issue.
