| Obverse description | Draped bust of a female deity, most likely Persephone or a local nymph, facing left in three-quarter perspective, rendered in high relief with exceptional artistry characteristic of the mid-4th century BC. The hair is elaborately dressed with a wreath or stephane, with richly flowing locks cascading in fine wavy strands across the temple and neck. A pendant earring is visible at the ear, and a beaded necklace adorns the throat. The fleshy, idealised facial features — with a subtly downcast eye, full lips, and delicate nose — reflect the influence of the Syracusan engraving tradition. |
