Obverse description Bearded male head, identified as Kronos, facing right in high relief, with flowing wavy hair and full curled beard rendered in the Classical Cilician style. The head is bound with an ornamented tainia, its ties visible behind the neck. A fish symbol appears in the left field behind the head, serving as a civic emblem of Mallos. The portraiture is vigorous and deeply modeled, characteristic of Cilician coinage of the mid-fourth century BC.
